New Technology Tuesday

On the Today Show last week, I saw that there was new apps out there to help protect individuals who entered an unsafe situation such as being attacked or chased. There was three that were highlighted during the segment: Wearsafe, bSafe, and Lifeline Response.

  • Wearsafe
    • This application comes with a button clip that can be attached to an article of clothing or purse. Once the button is pressed, it contacts a few of your friends that you choose and informs them that you are in trouble. It provides them with your location and an auto recording and allows your friends to then alert authority. You can also press the button again I believe to let them know you are now safe. There is a $5 monthly subscription but you can try it for free for the first 30 days.
  • bSafe
    • This one records video when you press a button on the application window and sounds off an alarm along with sending your GPS location to a network of your friends. The cool thing about this one is that it is FREE!
      • Check it out in your application store on your phone.
  • Lifeline Response
    • If you are someone who feels like they are always being followed, this one is for you. Once you feel unsafe, go ahead and open the application and hold down the circle button. When that button is released, it will give you 30 seconds to let it count down or type in your code letting it know you are safe. Once the 30 seconds is up, the application will notify the police with your GPS location and your description. Now that is really cool and it is only about $5.00 per month. Right now they have a 25% discount.
If any of you have any questions or have used these applications please comment below. I truly would like to hear some feedback from my readers or if you know anyone who uses these.
