Throwback Thursday

In the fall of 2009, I was just finishing my freshman year in college at the University of Montana when the Montana Grizzly football team made it to the championship game. Since I was in the marching band, we got the opportunity to travel down to Chattanooga, TN to support our team. On the plane ride down, everyone was busy working on their final exams before we arrived and the fun times started. It was one of my crazy memories in college and I don't have too many of those. The band was down there a few days before game night so we were able to do what we wanted as long as we showed up to practice on time. And yes, band greeks consist of some pretty crazy and some of the coolest individuals that I know of.
My all time favorite thing about going to Chattanooga was going to the Tennessee Aquarium. I remember they have Sea Dragons and other species of Seahorses along with other beautiful creatures. There was also a 24/7 diner at the hotel we were staying at which was very interesting because the menu consisted of the most American food you can think of.

When game day finally came along, it was raining all day so the field we were practicing on was ankle deep in water. It also continued to rain off and on during the game making it a cold one due to the humidity. But before the game started, we marched through the tailgate parties with all of the Montana fans and boy, there was a lot of them. It was very cool playing in front of so many fans being that far from home. The Montana Grizzlies have a lot of supporters and I am proud to say that I am a GRIZ!
We lost that game to the Villanova Wildcats from Pennsylvania 23-21. The last two minutes of that game were intense because we had the ball. During our last play, the Grizzlies were passing the ball around like it was a hot potato as the time clock ran out. We almost made it for a touchdown but the Villanova fans stormed the field thinking the game was over even though it was still in play. We could have won that game.
