Jackson Hole Wyoming

The first thought that comes to the mind when one mentions Jackson Hole, are the Tetons. The Teton Range is 40 miles long in the Rocky Mountains. Its' tallest peak is the Great Teton reaching 13,775 feet or 2.6 miles high. All of the peaks along this mountain range are incredible because of their shear steepness and the fact that they stand alone rising up from the valley floor.
My boyfriend and I took a day trip up to Jackson the other weekend. He has never been there and I have not been since I was in middle school. This winter, Wyoming received more snow then normal leading to areas such as Bondurant, WY to accumulate over 7 feet in February. There was snow still up to the tops of the wire fences running along the road!

Once we drove through the town of Jackson continuing on highway 191, the Elk refuge is on the right side of the road. Looking on from a distance, we say over 5,000 head of Elk all just hanging out together before the warmer weather comes and they move on elsewhere. From there, I had him drive the ten miles out of town so we could set our eyes on one for the most stunning mountain ranges around, the Great Tetons. It was a little cloudy so I was not able to get any pictures where we could see the peaks themselves.

After soaking in all of their glory, we headed back to town to eat some lunch and check out the town square for a little bit. We stopped and ate at the Snake River Brewery where I had an incredible warm beet salad and he had a Bison cheese burger. The atmosphere and the overall set up within the brewery is beautiful. Large open windows, two stories allowing for many options to find a comfortable seat, you can see the massive barrels where the brew is being brewed, and a fire place in a corner.

On our way back to the truck, I had us do the tourist thing which is to take a picture under the antler shed arches that are located on the four corners of the town square. Next time, we will defiantly have to do some shopping and stop in to the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar to sit on the saddles at the bar. It was a short visit but was a must needed time together. I can't wait for more adventures with my love one.
